Hung Liu

Artist and Professor, Mills College, Oakland, California

 

Born in Chang Chun, China, in 1948, Hung Liu is an Oakland, CA based artist. Her paintings and installations are in many private and public collections including the Whitney Museum of American Art, Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Smithsonian American Art Museum, the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.

Liu is a two-time recipient of a National Endowment for the Arts Painting Fellowship, a Eureka Fellowship, and a Joan Mitchell Painting Fellowship. She has exhibited widely throughout the United States and internationally. Liu is currently Professor of Studio Art at Mills College, Oakland, CA.
